Ashe County Chamber of Commerce Scholarships
Each year, the Chamber, through its 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Ashe County Advantage Project, awards deserving Ashe County students with scholarships for post-secondary education. Seniors from the Ashe County High School, Ashe Early College, and homeschooled students are eligible to apply. Priority is given to applicants interested in working in a rural community following graduation.
Selection committees interview finalists for the various Chamber scholarships before naming the winners. In 2021, the Ashe Advantage Project awarded nine deserving students with scholarships worth a combined total of $20,000. The Ashe County Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit voluntary membership association that serves as the unified voice for nearly 500 member businesses, individuals, and non-profits in and around the High Country. The Chamber also operates the Ashe County Visitor Center in downtown West Jefferson, welcoming all who explore the coolest corner of North Carolina.
