The Devil's Stairs

Based on a local folk tale, the Devil's Stairs is an approximately 80-mile motorcycle loop starting and ending in West Jefferson, North Carolina. The route weaves through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, featuring great pavement, technical curves, light traffic, and gorgeous High Country scenery. In addition to much of Ashe County, the loop will also take riders through Trade, Tennessee, Boone, and Todd, as well as alongside the ancient, serene New River.

End a fantastic day of riding with a fulfilling meal at one of the many restaurants in Ashe County before spending the night relaxing in one of our unique accommodations options. The Coolest Corner is the perfect headquarters for your on-bike explorations, whether those include a local Post Office tour or numerous regional rides, including The Snake and the Back of the Dragon.
